March RAOK: Our Founders’ Ideals

98th Founder’s Day 21st March 2017

In celebrating the philanthropic spirit of our founders, the Hwa Chong family commemorated Founders’ Day with various community activities all over Singapore.

In collaboration with Residents’ Committees and Jurong Central Division, the CIP Council organised Project Love, aiming to provide financially challenged families in Jurong Central with basic food necessities. A food drive was conducted a few weeks before Founders’ Day, involving Hwa Chong teachers, students and parents. A grand total of nearly 500 hampers, with each hamper containing various food items such as rice, milo and instant noodles, were donated by the Hwa Chong family.

On the actual Founders’ Day, High School Students helped to deliver the food items from Hwa Chong to Jurong, and wrapped them neatly into beautiful hampers. Thereafter, C1 Ares students distributed these hampers to 462 needy beneficiary families in Jurong Central. The residents greatly appreciated the hampers and expressed sincere gratitude for the hard work put into wrapping and delivering the hampers!

We thank all of you for your active donation and support for CIP Council’s initiatives and for making Founders’ Day 2017 such a successful one!
